Brunetti visits Auburn

Barry Brunetti, one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation, took an unofficial visit this past Saturday. Brunetti, from Memphis (Tenn.) University School, traveled south to Auburn and he liked what he saw in the Tigers.
"I went straight to the offices and to see coach (Gus) Malzahn," Brunetti said. "I wanted to see how they play offense. Man that offense is great and a perfect fit for me. He's a great coach. The people around (Auburn) were so cool. Most of players were on spring back but I liked the campus. It was a nice campus and it's the SEC.

"I also talked with coach (Gene) Chizik for about 20 minutes. He told me that I am one of the top guys on their board. They have six quarterbacks now and they want to see how things shake out after spring ball."
So a possible offer down the line is a good possibility for Brunetti. Another SEC school he recently checked out was Mississippi State. And the Bulldogs have offered Brunetti.
"I had a chance to meet some of the players like Anthony Dixon. I had a good talk with coach (Dan) Mullen. He is a great coach and all his quarterbacks have been so successful. I will go back and watch (spring) practice and maybe even their spring game."
So Brunetti plans to get back to Starkville and Auburn. He will also check out practices at Alabama, Virginia Tech and Memphis. He currently has scholarship offers from Mississippi State, Duke, Memphis and UT Chattanooga.
