Carson (Calif.) linebacker Lamar Brumfield told us earlier in the week that there was a very good chance he would commit to Washington State while on his official visit this weekend. Were the Cougs able to seal the deal?
We just missed Brumfield when we called the house but his mother did have good news for Cougar fans.
"Yes, Lamar did commit," Ms. Brumfield said. "I'll let him give you all the details when tomorrow, he just left for a movie but he is very excited about it and happy to be going to Washington State."
Brumfield, 6-2, 215 pounds had narrowed his choices to the Cougs and Oregon and was supposed to visit Eugene last weekend.
"Oregon told me they had too many players already visiting and wanted to move my visit to the 21st," Brumfield told us a week ago. "It doesn't seem like they are as interested as they once were so I'm planning to commit to Washington State this weekend."
That's exactly what happened as WSU lands one of the top 'backers in the west region.
