Bruce talks visit destinations

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Sam Bruce's talking points haven't changed much in recent months.
The four-star wide receiver has been committed to Miami for some time now. Since making the pledge, he's been outspoken about his desire to look at other schools. And as the Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas star wrapped up spring practice on Thursday, nothing on either front had changed.

Bruce is still very much a member of Miami's 2016 class and still very much actively looking around.
"I just have to say that I'm committed to Miami right now," Bruce said when asked how the upcoming college season could affect his standing. "I'm committed to Miami as things are. I'm solid."
The programs chasing the Hurricanes in the race to land Bruce have long since been identified. Still, Bruce tossed some more light on the situation following his team's spring scrimmage. On Thursday, he tossed out the names of teams making especially strong pushes.
Ask Bruce which schools have the inside track to land his five official visits, and he spouts them from memory.
"Ohio State, Florida State, of course Miami and Florida," Bruce said. "Those are the ones."
Bruce also plans to visit both UCLA and USC while he is in California for 7-on-7 tournament in June. Those visits will be of the unofficial variety, of course, but every trip Bruce takes will have something in common. He's looking for a connection with a coaching staff, sure, but there's also a more tangible requirement high on the receiver's recruiting checklist.
"I'm trying to major in sports broadcasting or communications," Bruce said. "That's a big reason why I picked Miami. They have one of the best sports broadcasting programs in the nation."
