Bruce prepares for home stretch.

Sam Bruce is in a recruiting lull of sorts. The four-star wide receiver remains committed to Miami despite the uncertainty of the Hurricanes' coaching situation, but he's in the midst of a final look around. As Signing Day draws closer, other options remain on the table.

His look around will assume a spot on the back burner while Bruce leads his Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas team into the state playoffs, however. These are lean times when it comes to recruiting news on Bruce.
"I'm going to the Florida State-Florida game," Bruce said. "I'm gonna be at that one. After that, man, I'm just relaxing until after Christmas. That's all for now."
After Christmas, Bruce will get down to work. In this case, 'work' means campus visits, of which he has a handful planned. The Rivasl100 prospect intends to visit Miami again and take official visits to both Florida and Alabama. From there, things get a bit less set in stone.
"After those, I have one more," Bruce said. "It's gonna either be Florida State or Auburn."
WHAT'S NEXT?:Bruce's official visits will determine a lot, but maybe not as much as the impending coaching hire at Miami. If the Hurricanes' tab Alabama assistant coach Mario Cristobal, Bruce will almost certainly stick with his pledge. If not, things could get dicey.
IN HIS WORDS: "I feel like I committed to the school more than anything else," Bruce said. "I feel like I'm a University of Miami player. I mean, that's where I'm at. That's where I fit in."
RIVALS' REACTION:Odds are Bruce sticks with Miami. Still, the Hurricanes could scare him off with what he deems to be a poor coaching hire. Florida seems to be the biggest threat to steal Bruce away, and the Gators could make yet another push during the receivers upcoming official visits.
