Browning puts up major numbers

Recruiting has just started for Jake Browning but the 2015 quarterback from Folsom, Calif., has done everything possible to get noticed early on.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect who has already landed an offer from Utah put up mind-boggling statistics in his sophomore season and things are getting busier.

In a high-octane offense at Folsom, Browning completed 391 of 605 passes for 5,248 yards with 63 touchdowns and 16 interceptions this past season.
That's right. Browning put up numbers most quarterbacks would be happy with in an entire career, let alone their sophomore season.
Utah was the first to offer and Browning said others are getting involved. There is a connection to the Utes though so that could make a difference as things continue.
"I haven't talked a lot with the staff but I grew up two houses down from Kyle Whittingham's brother and I sent them my film," Browning said. "I talked to Kyle Whittingham on the phone before but that's pretty much it.
"It's a huge offer. It was awesome."
There are no plans for Browning to take an unofficial visit to Utah, and since it's so early it's not a necessity, but the Folsom quarterback said he'd like to get to campus at some point soon.
"I have to figure that out with my family," Browning said.
"I'd like to take them out there. Salt Lake City is a really nice city and everything."
Utah is the first school to offer Browning, who led his team to a 14-1 season, and he said Florida State, Oregon State, Boise State and Colorado are showing interest.
