Brown working hard on and off the field

CYPRESS, Texas - Cornerback prospect Anthony Brown, a Rivals250 to watch member, is focused on academics.
The 5-foot-11, 188-pounder got things done on the field as a junior picking up second-team all-state honors, co-MVP honors and a defensive player of the year selection for his district. Still waiting on that first offer, Brown says the most important thing for him is to get things done in the classroom.

"It's all about getting those grades up," Brown said. "I'm really working hard to get my GPA up right now. I took the ACT and got a 14 on that the first time."
Brown says that he gets mail from schools all over. Some of those include Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, and several others. He plans to hit those four schools this summer for camp trips.
"Those are the camps I plan on going to," Brown said. "I really like Arkansas and Oklahoma State. They've sent me a lot of mail. They also seem to have pretty good academic programs and that's what I'm really looking hard at."
In 7-on-7 competition this past Saturday, Brown showed his abilities to not just play cornerback, but also safety. He says that he feels one position is better than the other for him at the next level.
"I feel like I'm a better corner because I can cover well," Brown said. "Plus, I just like to work on it a lot and get better at that position. I know I can get better, so I just go out everyday and keep working hard."
