Brown still confident in his choice

Offensive guard/defensive end John Brown wasn't fazed by the departure of Walt Harris from Pitt. He still plans on becoming a Panther.
"I'm definitely going to Pitt next year," said Brown. "It didn't matter who they brought in as the next coach, I was going to sign with Pitt. It's the only school I'm interested in, so my mind has been made for a while."

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Lower Burrell (Pa.) Burrell prospect still plans on taking an official visit to the school.
"I'll most likely be at Pitt either the weekend on Jan. 7 or the weekend of Jan. 14. Right now it's looking like I'll be there the 7th. I'll be interested in talking more to the new coach and hearing more about what he wants to try to do there.
"He told me that he was going to build the offense around a really strong offensive line, so I was pretty excited to hear that was a big area of emphasis for him. I think they'll want me on that side of the ball."
