Brown shortening list, planning trips

Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar defensive tackle Christian Brown, who claims around 20 offers, is working to narrow down his list of options.
"I have narrowed it down some," Brown said. "Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa State, UCF, USF, Indiana, Purdue, North Carolina State, and West Virginia. I am still waiting on an offer from Miami."

The 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive lineman said that each of the schools on his narrowed list are similar in regards to how they have gone about recruiting him.
"Basically, I like the coaching staffs at each school and I have fun with them," Brown said. "Now I just need to get on campus at them and see if I like how it is, if I like the facilities, and the feel of it all. I want to get a better feel for the coaches and players because they are going to be a big part of my decision."
As for taking trips, that hasn't happened yet for Brown but he expects that to change later this month.
"I haven't made any trips yet," Brown said. "I was supposed to take a trip in June with some other teammates where we were going to go to a bunch of schools but I had a family issue come up that prevented me from doing so. I am supposed to be taking a trip this month, probably next week to see some schools. I will probably see Illinois and a whole bunch of other schools. I am not sure where all we will be going but I know I want to see West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina State, and a whole bunch of other schools."
The three-star defensive lineman plans to do a good bit of in-depth research before he makes his pledge.
"I don't have a leader right now," Brown said. "I am not going to make my decision early. I want to check in on a lot of schools and see which schools stay involved with me the most and that offer the best opportunity."
