Brown set for second MSU visit

Class of 2014 offensive guard Derek Brown of Yale (Mich.) High School is just beginning his junior year. However, it hasn't taken long for the 6-foot-4, 295-pound prospect to receive college interest and one of the main schools showing interest is Michigan State University.
Brown will be visiting Michigan State this Saturday when they face off against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Brown said this isn't the first time he has visited MSU this year and he has already built a relationship with their coaches.

"I recently visited Michigan State when they played against Notre Dame, which was a good experience." Brown said. "I also have had the chance to speak with the coaches and build a nice relationship with MSU's offensive line coach Mark Staten."
Other schools Brown is receiving interest from include Michigan, Pittsburgh and Akron.
At this time Brown doesn't have a favorite school, but he did say he is paying close attention to the schools in the Big East Conference.
"I like the Big East; they have a lot of good offensive teams and I could see myself in that conference," Brown said. "I also like the fact that Big East schools are close to home and if I do leave the state of Michigan, I want to be close to home."
Brown plans to do more college traveling soon. He plans to visit Pittsburgh, Akron and possibly Ball State and Ohio, but for now he is focused on his visit with Michigan State this Saturday.
