Brown recaps SEC visits

Four-star linebacker Eli Brown of Bowling Green (Ky.) Warren East has begun a busy spring of visits, and his two most recent trips were stops at SEC programs.
"I just got back from Ole Miss to visit for their spring game," Brown said. "It was my first time down there and it is a very cool place. I got to sit down and talk to the linebackers coach. He is a real cool dude and was telling me background stories of the head coach."

Brown was joined on the visit to Ole Miss by his father, stepmother and his cousin. They all sat down with linebackers coach Tom Allen and discussed how Brown would fit in the Rebel's defense.
"He was telling me he liked how I have the length and athletic ability," Brown said. "They would like me to play outside linebacker, which is a blitzing 'backer. He said I would fit real well in that position and showed me all the formations."
Brown followed up his spring game visit to Ole Miss with a spring practice visit to in-state SEC program Kentucky. He had originally planned to visit Kentucky March 29, but rescheduled and traveled to Lexington this past Saturday.
"UK is probably the school I have the strongest connection with," Brown said. "I am real close with Coach [Neal] Brown, I'm real close with the defensive coordinator and Coach [Mark] Stoops."
A return trip to Lexington is planned for April 26 when Brown will take in the Wildcat's spring game. The close relationship with the staff has Kentucky in a good position in Brown's recruitment.
"If I choose any school in-state, UK will be the school," Brown said. "Just the fact that my family can watch me play, that is really big. They are only 2.5 hours away from my home."
One other program Brown is looking to visit this spring is Ohio State. He last visited Columbus in October to see the Buckeye's host Big Ten rival Iowa.
"Going to Ohio State changed my mind about everything," Brown said. "When I went to the Iowa game, it was after that game I ended up decommitting from Vanderbilt. It was a great experience and I am ready to get back down there so I can a final tour around the whole schools.
"I have a pretty good connection with Ohio State. I keep in touch with Coach [Tim] Hinton a lot."
Brown made a commitment to Vanderbilt last summer, but re-opened his recruitment in October. He does not plan to make another commitment until his senior year.
"I am going to take all my official visits when the time is right," Brown said. "I will take my official visits before I make my final decision."
