Brown picks Big 12 over Pac-12

Tony Brown committed to Texas Tech on Thursday afternoon and according to La Mirada, Calif., coach Mike Moschetti the Red Raiders are getting a phenomenal player.
And a kid who can contribute all over the field.

"He's a kid especially defensively he just make a huge impact on our team," Moschetti said.
"We've been a high school that has struggled in the back end over the years and his athleticism really helped us this year. He was a lockdown guy on receivers. He's such a great athlete that he can play corner, he can play safety and he returns kicks.
"He's an outside receiver for us and we moved him around. He could be an inside receiver. He's a legit high 4.4 guy. If you watch him on film he's constantly pulling away from people. That's something everybody is looking for is top-end speed. He made big plays each and every week."
Brown, who picked Texas Tech over Colorado, UCLA and others, is also a special prospect off the field in his preparation. Moschetti said Brown, who played his junior season at Anaheim (Calif.) Servite, trains like a pro and that's something that could continue to separate him once he gets to college.
"He prepares like a pro," Moschetti said. "He's one of those kids who have food in Tupperware at school and a big jug of water and his rice and chicken and vegetables and protein shakes. He really prepares off the field in the off-season almost to the point of how a professional player does.
"What's so intriguing about him is that he can play multiple positions. Some other high schools they might have a kid playing one way. He wants to play receiver and he could have a long career playing corner also.
"That's what makes him so special if you're recruiting him. This kid could play safety, he could play receiver, he could play corner and he can return kicks."
In his senior season, Brown finished with 46 receptions for 993 yards and 11 touchdowns. Rivals.com rates him as the No. 63 receiver in the 2015 class.
