Brown optimistic about Wisconsin offer

Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central safety Kevin Brown picked up an early offer from Central Michigan, but he has been waiting several weeks for offer No. 2 to join the Chippewas. He feels most optimistic about one Big Ten school in particular.
"I'm looking to get one probably from Wisconsin," Brown said. "They've been saying the same thing that I talked to them about when I went down there. They just wanted to see a little more of me up close and get to know me better. I'm going back up there for a spring game in April, and maybe for a practice."

The 6-1, 195-pound Brown attended a junior day at Wisconsin in February, and came off that visit feeling he fit well with the Badgers' program. If a Wisconsin offer does come down in the near future, a commitment may not be far behind.
"I may make an early commitment, but I don't know yet," Brown said.
Brown picked up the offer from Central Michigan in February. He has not had much contact with their coaching staff since, but was glad to have that first offer.
"I was surprised and didn't even know I had an offer, but I was excited when they told me," Brown said. "I'm going to get up there and look a little bit into it. I've only seen a little bit on the Internet."
Brown continues to receive interest from other schools and is looking into additional campus visits this spring.
"I might set something up with Louisville and Western Kentucky for spring games," Brown said. "My coach said they were real interested, but I guess they are probably going to wait until I go to some camps."
As a junior, Brown totaled 65 tackles and four forced fumbles from his safety position. He is now involved with his high school track team where he competes in the long jump and has a personal best of 21-5 this spring.
