Brown likes West Coast flavor

West Bloomfield, Mich. star prospect Kyle Brown made his first-ever visit to the city of Los Angeles this weekend for his official visit with USC. How did it go?
“I really liked it out there,” the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Brown said. “I liked the coaches, the players especially the guys who were my hosts. Keary Colbert and those guys are good guys.”

Brown not only got the tour of the USC campus, but he also got to see a few other L.A. landmarks, like Manhattan Beach, Hollywood, The Coliseum and Sunset Blvd.
So did his trip move the Trojans up on his list?
“I’d say USC is about the same as Michigan State right now,” Brown said. That USC has moved up comes as a surprise. But the fact that the Spartans remain among the leaders does not.
Just two weeks ago, Brown said the Spartans were his top choice.
Brown visits Michigan State this upcoming weekend (Dec. 7). Bobby Williams, the MSU head coach, made his home visit to Brown last week.
Oklahoma (Dec. 14), Purdue (Nov. 16), Penn State, Georgia Tech and Ohio State also remain involved.
Oklahoma assistant Steve Spurrier Jr. and Penn State assistant Ron Vanderlinden are slated to make home visits on Monday.
Brown says that although he is ranked the No. 10 running back in the country by Rivals100.com, he is being courted by most colleges as a wide receiver. And that’s the position he wants to play in college.
“I prefer wide receiver I think. That’s more ‘me’ when it comes to college.”
Brown said he was one of five official visitors at USC this weekend, including two players who have already committed to the Trojans, Indio, Calif. linebacker Oscar Lua and Temscal Canyon, Calif. kicker Tom Malone.
Defensive tackle Chris Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla. does not return from his official visit to USC until late Sunday night.
