Running back Andre Brown makes things happen on the football field. Whether he’s running over would-be tacklers, or running around them, he can do it all. The Greenville (N.C.) Rose star has offers from some of the nation's top programs. Does he have a leader?
"Miami, NC State, Nebraska, Virginia and LSU are showing the most interest, and they're high on my list," said Brown. "But no one on that list stands out above the others. All of those schools except Miami have offered."
Brown stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 210 pounds. He runs the 40-yard-dash in 4.4 seconds and has a great combination of speed and power. What does he like about some of his favorites?
"I like that Miami is moving to the ACC," he said. "They'll be playing closer to my home. Nebraska has a great tradition at running back. Thunder Collins was one of my favorite players when he was there. NC State is a good program and they're going to get better. I went to NC State this summer and they have some nice new facilities. They're strictly for football, which is good. Virginia is a lot like NC State, in that it's a program on the rise. And LSU is in a good conference and they have a good tradition."
When will Brown make his decision, and what will it be based on?
"I'll wait until Signing Day to make my decision," he said. "I'm getting a lot of mail and will be taking all of my official visits. The biggest factors in my decision will be the coaching staff, the players that are there, and the location of the school."
Last year Brown rushed for 2,123 yards on 181 carries with 17 touchdowns. He caught 20 passes for 409 yards and three scores.
