Brown hoping to get back to action

Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes wide receiver Freddie Brown is a big, lean two-sport star that is getting recruited in both football and basketball. His future, however, may be on the gridiron and he has some solid scholarship offers.
“I still have the same offers, Kentucky, South Carolina and Wake Forest,” Brown said. “The only game I have been to so far was the South Carolina-Georgia game and I am planning on going to the Tennessee-South Carolina game in a couple of weeks.”

As a junior Brown, attended school in North Carolina and had 86 catches for 1,459 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also scored over 1,000 points in basketball as a junior. He has a 255-pound bench press.
“Right now the schools I am looking at are Kentucky, South Carolina and Wake Forest,” Brown said. “They have offered, so they are at the top. If another school stepped up and offered they would probably be in there too. I have been talking to Kentucky and South Carolina about official visits, but I have not set that up yet.”
Brown has spent the last two weeks sidelined with a sprained shoulder. He also had shoulder problems last year which caused him to miss action.
“I really don’t have a certain time I want to commit,” Brown said. “I guess I will just commit whenever it feels right.”
