Brown hoping for more offers

Jermani Brown has had a tremendous offseason and the 2017 four-star defensive back is now focused on having a big junior year where he could land more offers. Originally from the St. Louis, Mo., area, Brown said he is definitely open to returning to the Midwest to play college football.

Ohio State has shown some interest after his recent trip to Columbus for its Friday Night Lights Camp. He's hoping offers from Missouri and Michigan come soon. As for schools in the Pac-12, Arizona State, Boise State and Utah stand out most.
Watch out for Michigan State, though. Brown has talked highly of the Spartans recently, he loves that they put defensive backs in the NFL and he's building a big-time relationship with that coaching staff early in his recruitment.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Brown has not finalized any unofficial visits this fall but there is a good chance he could be heading out of town with some Calabasas teammates. Five-star Darnay Holmes is headed to the Ohio State-Virginia Tech game along with Stanford and others. Keyshawn Johnson, Jr., has a wide array of trips planned. Brian Hightower, a 2018 prospect, is planning a trip to Nebraska along with a possible one to Tennessee. Brown could hit up some of those schools to get a better feel.
IN HIS WORDS: "I really liked the coaches at Ohio State," Brown said. "When we got there they put us through a hard workout before we started the camp. That was fun. Getting into the camp they worked on our fundamentals. It benefited everyone in the one-on-ones. There were a lot of good receivers and a lot of good DBs."
RIVALS' REACTION: Brown is originally from the Midwest and he said that really opens up his recruitment to entirely different options than just staying in the Pac-12. Michigan State seems to really have Brown's early attention but it's still premature to say the Spartans have any real edge in his recruitment. An offer from Missouri could make things much more interesting. Some major Pac-12 teams have not offered yet either and if that happens then Brown's perspective could change completely.
