Brown hears final push from a finalist

A week ago today, the seventh-rated player in the Rivals100, Andrew Brown, shocked the world by announcing a top five and saying that he will announce his decision on June 29. Brown, the nation's top defensive tackle, said his top five schools, in alphabetical order are Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Now that Brown has announced his decision is only a few days away, one of those schools made its final push to convince him.

"I just talked to some of the Virginia Tech coaches," the 6-foot-3, 298-pound Brown said last night. "The conversation went very smoothly."
This opportunity allowed Brown to ask some final questions that will help him figure out if he is making the right choice for himself.
"I asked them where I would be playing, would I have to redshirt, what are they looking for and what are they expecting," he said. "That's pretty much all it was. I liked the answers."
Did the Hokies staff convince Brown that he should play in Blacksburg? We'll have to wait and see.
"I think I'm set in what I want to do," Brown said. "The coaches are making a good case for themselves."
This figures to be a busy, stressful week for Brown as he anticipates having conversations with coaches from Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Virginia.
"I haven't heard from the other schools yet, but I'm sure I will," he said. "I'm just taking it one step at a time."
Brown will announce his decision at his home on Saturday.
