Brown hearing from Pac-12 powers

Jalen Brown has proven time and again that he's one of the top 2014 prospects in the state of Arizona and this past weekend at the IMG Madden 7-on-7 West Regional was no different.
Brown, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound athlete from Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe, thrived at wide receiver and defensive back and made it clear why Arizona, Arizona State and Yale have already offered.

Two more powerhouse Pac-12 programs are showing interest as well.
"USC and Oregon called my football coach and they told my coach they're coming down to watch my spring practice," Brown said. "Those are the two that have been talking to me recently. They haven't talked about a position yet.
"I'm open to all programs. I haven't really decided on a certain spot yet because I'm so young."
It is still early for Brown, who had 37 receptions for 621 yards and 10 touchdowns in his sophomore season, but he's already taken unofficial visits to both in-state programs just to get a feel for the new coaching staffs.
Both impressed him and the Wildcats and Sun Devils remain in the running.
"It seems like a good atmosphere over there at Arizona," Brown said. "It seems like they're on the right path. They're going to be pretty decent.
"ASU is all about the people and they're all about winning. Coach (Todd) Graham told me that personally, that they're pushing for all the in-state kids. They're going to recruit them hard."
Staying close to home is not a major deal at least at this point in his recruitment as Brown said he's looking for the best situation wherever he might find it. He would prefer to stay on offense but if the best fit is defensive back then the 6-foot-3, 180-pound recruit seems open to that, too.
"(Being at an in-state school) is not really that important to me," Brown said. "I'm really looking for the best fit for me but I haven't found that yet since I'm so young. It's OK with me sitting back and waiting because I have a lot of time.
"I prefer playing offense. I'm more of an attacking player. I like that style and that's where I think I play best."
