Brown getting lots of attention

Running back/cornerback Donald Brown put on a show at a combine not too long ago, running the 40-yard dash in 4.27 seconds. Now he's receiving as much attention as ever before.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound athlete from Red Bank (N.J.) Catholic usually runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.4 second range, but has been clocked much lower. With all that speed and athletic ability, it's no wonder so many schools are interested in him. Does he have any leaders?
"I wouldn't use the word 'leader' maybe, because I don't want to give off the impression that I'm not looking at anybody else. But right now I'm looking the hardest at schools like Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Syracuse, UConn and other schools on the east coast. I don't mind leaving the state, but I like this side of the country," he laughed.
What does he like about those schools?
"I want to play football on a big stage," he said. "I want to go somewhere where the students and fans have a passion for the game and where it's a big part of the whole atmosphere. I'm not asking to come in and start right away, but when I do get to play, I want to be able to feel like it's a real big event."
Brown has also indicated that academics would be a top priority in his decision. Can we expect a decision any time soon?
"No, I won't decide any time soon unless someone just convinces me I can't go anywhere else. I want to go to some camps, talk to coaches a lot more and then take my official visits."
As a junior Brown carried the ball 130 times for 1,155 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also caught 20 passes for 271 yards. On defense he recorded 53 tackles and two interceptions.
