Brown gets Big Ten offer

A Big Ten program has jumped into the mix for Royal Palm Beach (Fla.) running back Zacchaeus Brown.
"Minnesota offered me," Brown said. "I got a letter in the mail from the head coach."

The 5-foot-10, 198-pounder was happy to receive an offer from the Golden Gophers.
"It was good because I had had Minnesota in mind," Brown said. "They run the ball a lot and all of their running backs go to the NFL."
The Gophers are the second program to offer Brown, joining West Virginia.
Brown recently competed at the Miami NIKE Camp.
"It was good because not only did I think I did a good job in the testing, but I got to see all of the other talent in South Florida," Brown said. "It was a good experience to see all of that talent."
Brown, who rushed for 640 yards and eight touchdowns in 2005, doesn't have any unofficial visits planned for the remainder of spring.
"I am just getting ready for spring football," Brown said. "We start May 1."
