Brown excited for first visit

Thomas Brown doesn't want to name any favorites although Arizona State has been considered a frontrunner for some time and the Gardena (Calif.) Serra inside linebacker said he's really looking forward to his official visit to Tempe later this month.
Brown, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound three-star prospect, will take his first official visit to Arizona State the weekend of Oct. 29 when the Sun Devils host Colorado.

"Everything is cool with my relationship with coach (Steve) Broussard and we've still been talking back and forth," Brown said. "I'm still going to wait until the end of the season to make a commitment where I'm going.
"I'm looking forward to (the Arizona State trip) a lot because I'll actually get a chance to visit the college. I want to see how the defense is playing. That's going to be important when I make my decision."
At some point later in his senior year, Brown said he also wants to visit Colorado and then he'll figure out his other three trips. Utah is his newest offer and he's starting to do more research on that program, too.
"They just now started to recruit me," Brown said. "It was big to get an offer from them but I'm just talking with the coaches and trying to see what I can find out about the university."
Arizona State, Colorado, SMU and Utah have offered Brown, who's rated No. 25 at inside linebacker in the 2012 class and No. 71 in the California state rankings by Rivals.com.
He said Oregon and Oregon State have been recruiting him harder in recent weeks and UCLA is getting involved as well.
For the time being, Brown doesn't want to name a favorite since it's still relatively early in his decision-making process.
"It's basically even right now," Brown said. "It's not so much about favorites. I have to see what the schools actually look like so I can get a feel for them."
