Rivals250 class of 2015 offensive tackle George Brown used a weekend trip to California to visit family, and also check out Pac-12 programs UCLA and USC.
"I saw USC on Friday and UCLA on Saturday," Brown said. "I really liked both of the schools. It is kind of hard to decide which one I liked better."
The 6-foot-6, 260-pound Brown holds more than 40 scholarship offers already. UCLA is on the list, but USC has not yet extended an offer.
"I talked to Coach [Steve] Sarkisian and he said he is ready to offer me," Brown said. "He and the whole staff likes my film, but they're waiting for the o-line coach to get there. He said they will offer me after he reviews my film."
Sarkisian is building his staff after taking over as head coach last month, and Brown was already familiar with several of his assistants.
"I got to see Coach [Chris] Wilson, who offered me at Georgia," Brown said. "I spent some time with the strength coach and talked with him. I also saw coach Tee Martin and talked with him."
Being his first time on USC's campus, Brown came away with a positive impression of the school.
"It's good that it is a small campus," he said. "I really liked the coaches and the facilities looked great. I got to go out on the Coliseum field and I liked that. I guess I will have to start building a relationship with their coaches."
Brown came into his UCLA visit having already built a strong relationship with USC offensive line coach Adrian Klemm. The trip gave him a chance to get to know head coach Jim Mora better.
"We sat down and talked with Coach Mora for about an hour even though they had official visits," Brown said. "I felt like that was great that he took time out of his day to talk with us.
"I had stayed in contact with Coach Klemm for a while and he seemed pretty cool. We talked about the o-line a lot. He said I wouldn't have to put on much weight. It was a beautiful campus. I really liked it and really liked the coaches as well."
Brown and his father also visited an aunt and cousins while in the Los Angeles area, and came back to his hometown of Cincinnati with a better feel for the two Pac-12 programs.
"It's definitely an option," Brown said. "I also have family out there, and that's a plus as well."
Brown's last three offers came in from Penn State, Texas and TCU and he plans to visit one of those schools soon.
"My next visit will probably be Texas," Brown said. "I may try to go out to Auburn before, but I'm not sure. I am definitely going out to Texas. It might be late February."
Brown attends Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati. He is ranked as the No. 115 overall prospect in the 2015 class and the No. 12 offensive tackle.
