Broward WR has a favorite

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. wide receiver Xavier Harris entered the Miami NIKE camp with no offers and very little recruiting interest. That has all since changed as he has picked up several impressive offers and continues to build steam in the recruiting process.
"Right now I have offers from Clemson, Auburn, Georgia, Iowa, NC State, South Carolina, Florida International, Bowling Green, Wisconsin and South Florida," Harris said. "Florida has been on me hard all along, they were the first school to really start recruiting me. Florida State has been sending me more stuff lately. I haven't really heard from Miami yet."

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Harris attended the Miami NIKE camp where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.82 seconds and ran a 4.37 seconds and posted a 28-inch vertical jump.
"Right now Clemson is my No. 1 school," Harris said. "I really like their academics. Their African-American graduation rate is like 90-percent. I met some of the coaches and I really liked all of those guys."
During his junior campaign Harris caught 31 passes for 802 yards.
"Academics is my No. 1 priority," Harris said. "I want to major in business, so I really want to find a school that has a good business school. Early playing time is something that is important to me. Whatever school gives me the opportunity to play early is something big for me. I would also like to stay in the South if possible."
In addition to the NIKE camp, Harris attended camps at Clemson and Auburn over the summer, but is now focused on the upcoming season.
"I am really just working on my game right now, always trying to get better," Harris said. "I think we have a chance to be really good this year and we're all working real hard. The coach wants to put the ball in my hands more this year, so I am going to have to step it up some."
