Broughton keeps focus on season

Treshon Broughton is still not sure whether he has a Nebraska offer and the Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta cornerback has been too busy with preseason football to find out.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound three-star prospect said he heard the Huskers offered and that his coaches were talking to the staff there but he cannot confirm an offer so for now he doesn't want to give out misleading information.

Broughton said he's working off the premise Nebraska has not offered until he can clear up the situation with its coaching staff. Because football and school have been so busy, he has not had the time to figure it out.
"I haven't had time yet," Broughton said. "I went on a Web site and it said I had an offer from them but I haven't talked to them yet.
"My coaches did get in contact but I don't want to say something that's false. I haven't really been worried about it because I've been practicing and I'm worried about the season right now. If they decide to show up with an official offer I'd be happy about that."
So far, Broughton has offers from Oregon State and New Mexico State and said no other teams have shown serious interest through the summer.
Vista Murrieta opens its season this weekend against Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Thunder Ridge so Broughton has concerned himself with game preparation and not the recruiting process.
Once he settles into his season, Broughton said he would like to take official visits to the schools that have offered and see if other programs get involved early on. And he wants to figure out exactly what's going on with Nebraska.
"I'm not looking at officials yet," Broughton said.
"I'm just ready to play some football. I'm looking to visit those two schools but I haven't figured out the dates or when it would work with my schedule or anything like that."
