Brooks Might Surprise

The recruitment of Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton linebacker Ahmad Brooks has taken an interesting twist.
"I think I want to get out of state," said the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder. "I went to Florida State this weekend and it was a nice visit. Everyone thinks I'm going to Virginia or Virginia Tech and, while I like those schools, getting out of state looks cool."

Brooks visits Virginia this weekend and then has Tennessee on Jan. 25 and Penn State on Feb. 1. He had just finished an in-home visit with Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster.
"After Virginia I'll compare the two visits and figure if staying in state is better than out of state," he said. "Then I'll take my last two visits, compare everything and figure out around Signing Day."
So how serious is he about leaving Virginia?
"It's not final or anything," he said. "But seeing different places and meeting different people has been great. There's alot more out there."
