Brisbon racking up offers

Montgomery (Ala.) Lee High offensive tackle R.J. Brisbon has felt a sting from an 0-9 record this year, but he’s happy that his bad luck on the field hasn’t spilled over to recruiting, where he has offers from a number of SEC powers.
“I’ve been talking to Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Georgia and Louisville,” Brisbon said. “I visited Auburn and really liked the atmosphere, how everyone was at the game and their whole tradition. I think Alabama is a good school, and they have almost more tradition than anyone else. They also have a really good sports medicine program, and that’s what I want to study. Tennessee is amazing because of their stadium. It’s real big and there’s just lots of fans. I like how they play and I like Coach Fulmer there.

“Ole Miss, I tried to go to a game there last week but I couldn’t get there. I think it’s a good school but I just haven’t visited it yet. Georgia has a really good sports medicine program and they’re a good team. And Louisville, they just offered me this week, they’re doing pretty good. I just got a phone call from them for the offer and they’re doing well.”
While he still has a lot to sort out among his prospective schools, Brisbon seems intent on letting visits to the schools give him some more direction.
“I’m going to make officials to the schools after the Christmas break,” he said. “I probably plan them in late December.”
As for his senior season, the 6-foot-5 offensive lineman isn’t letting Lee’s 0-9 record get to him too much.
“Well, we have a lot of young starters, and that may be part of why we’re 0-9. I’ve been doing good though, and I think we’ve been running good,” Brisbon said. “I play hard, I don’t quit and I just keep an open mind on every play. I just play and don’t think too much. I think that’s one of my strengths.”
