Brinkley puts recruiting on hold

The focus for St. Louis (Mo.) Beaumont athlete Niles Brinkley is set squarely on the season and not so much his recruiting that has garnered him three offers already.
Brinkley, a 5-foot-10, 176-pound prospect who is rated as the No. 24 rated player in the state of Missouri, is thinking a lot about visits, but is not sure when he'll take them with his senior season going full speed.

"I'm basically waiting it out," Brinkley said. "I don't want to set up anything. The coaches are busy and I'm busy, so after the season I'll set up something and go check out some places."
Wisconsin, Michigan State, Kansas, Kansas State, and Iowa State are the schools that Brinkley is interested in tripping to. He would also like to see some of those programs that have yet to offer, change that.
However, he stays in very close contact with those that have offered such as Ball State, Miami of Ohio, and Wisconsin.
"Well, those schools call," Brinkley said. "I talk to the schools that have offered once a week. They've been pretty cool with it all and they're not pressuring me at all. They tell lme that they would like for me to be on the team, but no real push to get me there right now."
The other thing that is holding up visits and a decision time frame is not only his season, but his ACT test. Once he finishes both, things will start picking up.
After getting his knee scoped, Brinkley is finally ready to get back on the field.
"Well, I was a little rusty coming off of that but it wasn't like I was recovering from a big injury," Brinkley said. "It was just build up in my knee from over the years that I wanted to get taken care of. We've been alright as a team, but we're 2-3 and we'd like to get back going as we get towards the end of the season."
