Brighton visits three camps

Allen Park, Mich. cornerback Derek Brighton visited camps at Bowling Green, Boston College and Michigan State in the last few weeks. What stood out about the visits to the speedy corner?
"Bowling Green offered when I was there and I'm excited about the offer. They want me as a wide receiver too which I think is better suited for me to play at the next level. The coaches are really great there and they all seem down to earth and very personable," he said. "I really liked Boston College, it was nice. The campus is really small, it's close together and the coaches and field are nice. Michigan State was good too as I already know all the coaches there."

The 5-foot-11, 173-pounder claims that those three schools are currently his favorites.
Surprisingly, Notre Dame who was a leader earlier has no longer caught the eye of the prospect.
"They showed a lot of interest earlier, but now Notre Dame has backed off recruiting me."
Brighton is hoping to get his decision done sooner than later.
"It would be nice to have it done before or early into the regular season," he said. "I'd like to do that and get it off my shoulders because I want to give everything to the team and concentrate on the season. We're supposed to be pretty good."
Brighton is still looking at traveling to one more camp this summer at Cincinnati.
Next season, the cornerback is looking to improve many aspects of his game.
"I definitely want to put on some weight and improve my flexibility," he stated. "I think those things will make me more agile and I'll be able to move around quicker and better."
Last season Brighton posted five interceptions. He should have no problem qualifying with an exceptional 3.8 GPA.
