Bright headed to Pac-12

Dave Bright recently landed an offer from Stanford and while he wanted to stay open to other programs the Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle realized he had found his future home.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound three-star prospect committed to the Cardinal on Wednesday night and Bright could not be happier about his choice.

"I was going to stay pretty open-minded but I couldn't pass it up," Bright said. "It was a great opportunity academic-wise and also on the football field it was something that there was no way I could turn it down. It was a school I had always wanted to go to so it was a pretty easy decision."
Stanford started showing interest in Bright at summer camp and then during the spring weight-lifting sessions at Mater Dei. The coaching staff tracked him through this fall, staying in touch and stopping by games.
Once the offer came, Bright said he wanted to still consider others but that Stanford offered him everything he wanted and he decided to end his recruitment.
"In the summer I did their camp and last spring during weight lifting time at Mater Dei that's when they started really talking to me," Bright said.
"After the camp that's when it all kind of went from there. When the season started they watched my games and they actually came to a couple of my games so it went from there, too.
"It's just a great feeling that the challenge at Mater Dei is going to be at Stanford. It's pretty much that Mater Dei set me up for Stanford so I'm just really excited."
Arizona State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Utah and Washington State had also offered the Mater Dei standout.
