Briggs land No. 4

Running back Trajuan Briggs (6-0, 200, 4.5) from Lake Balboa (Calif.) Birmingham recently picked up his third Pac 10 offer, to go with one from the Big East.
"I just received an offer from Washington after my track meet," Briggs said. "I had just run my personal best in the 200 it was a 22.1 and an 11-flat in the 100."
"Later that night, I called Washington and they offered me a scholarship," Briggs said. "Last week was strange in a great way. UCLA is looking for me in track and football."
The Big East also tendered Briggs a scholarship offer not too long ago.
"Pitt found me because, Frank Cignetti was recruiting me for Cal," Briggs said. "He told me that he was still wanted to recruit me."
"I didn't think much of it because I'm a Cali running back, but they told me to send my tape," Briggs said. "They looked at it, liked what they saw and offered me."
"Getting a scholarship offer from a school the distance away as Pitt, makes me feel confident, but I'm not going to let it go to my head," Briggs said. "I figured if Cal, Washington, Washington State and Pitt offered me, I must be doing something right."
The talented running back earned first-team all-city, first-team all-league and second-team all-area after rushing for 1,513 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also had eight receptions for 200-plus yards and two more touchdowns.
Briggs is staying in shape this offseason by running track. He runs the 4x400, 4x100, 100, 200 and 400. You have to be in pretty good shape to carry that load.
In the weight room, his current bench is 245 and his power clean is 255.
