Bridge eyes officials to NC State, Illinois

NC State and Illinois have recruited three-star wide receiver Dexter Bridge harder than any other schools out there and their persistence has paid off.
Bridge, currently ranked the No. 71 wide receiver in the nation by Rivals.com, is hoping to take official visits to both schools before the end of the recruiting process. That's what he said in a phone interview on Wednesday evening.

There is a little bit of confusion at the moment, however. The questions concern NC State and whether the Wolfpack has actually offered him a scholarship offer. Bridge isn't quite sure of the answer to that question, but he's looking for some help from the coaches on that issue.
"I've been keeping in contact with North Carolina State," he said. "I was there for the Boston College game. I talked to the coach after the game and I thought they had offered me in December or January, but I just don't have the papers to sign. They said they're working on getting me the official offer."
In addition to NC State, Bridge said he has been talking to coaches from James Madison and Villanova. He has also been exchanging e-mails with Boston College, Iowa and Syracuse, so those schools will be keeping him on their radar.
Berwyn (Pa.) Conestoga has one game remaining in the regular season. There is a slim chance they could make the playoffs depending on what happens in their game and in games involving other teams.
