"I decided yesterday to commit to Rutgers. I just felt more comfortable there and I like the direction on the in-state program," said the 6-foot-5, 282-pound tackle who runs the 40-yard dash in 5.0 seconds.
Roche made his decision shortly after returning from a visit to the other finalist, Miami.
"Miami is a great school and I was impressed with my visit there. The visit actually made my decision to attend Rutgers easier. Miami is known for All-Americans, National Championships, and first round draft picks. I think it would be special to build that tradition at Rutgers. Coach Schiano is building that type of program at Rutgers and it is something that I want to be a part of."
Roche has over 30 scholarship offers including Boston College, Virginia, North Carolina, Stanford, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma among others.
