Devon Brewer already has a handful of offers but what's also interesting is he's receiving a bunch of recruiting letters from schools across the country.
That means the 2014 cornerback from Fresno (Calif.) Central East plans to take his time with the recruiting process, not pick out any favorites and wait until much later to see which other programs get involved.
The 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect has already landed offers from Houston, Nevada, UNLV and Eastern Washington and said Washington, Notre Dame, Arizona, Indiana, Washington State, Arizona State and Ole Miss are some of the teams showing interest.
Because so many programs are involved, Brewer does not want to name any leaders this early.
"They're all looking good right now," Brewer said.
Two weekends ago, Brewer and some of his Fresno Central East teammates took an unofficial visit to the Oregon-USC game. Neither team has been serious involved with Brewer yet but he said it was still good to see that matchup in person.
"I liked the experience going out there to that game," Brewer said. "It was one of the best games of the week.
"I'm not really hearing from either school but I talked to one of the coaches at USC. That's pretty much it so far."
Teammate Michiah Quick is the top prospect at Fresno Central East next recruiting cycle but Brewer said he and Quick haven't talked much yet about playing together in college.
It's a conversation that could certainly happen as things heat up for both recruits but so far nothing has been determined about their future homes.
"We haven't really talked about it yet," Brewer said. "We're just playing football right now."
