Breeze solid with Ducks

Four-star safety Brady Breeze committed to Oregon last summer, but that hasn't prevented other schools from trying their luck in the Ducks' own backyard.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound defensive back landed an offer from Oregon State earlier this month, and Alabama, Boise State and Washington State have been actively pursuing Breeze as well.

"I usually get at least two or three letters from Alabama every week," Breeze said. "Washington State and Boise State are sending a ton of letters, too. They keep sending a lot of stuff. Notre Dame and Oklahoma have been talking to me and sending me messages on Twitter. It's been cool to hear from other schools even though I'm committed."
The Beavers, spearheaded by new head coach Gary Andersen, have plenty of relationships to reignite within their own borders. Breeze picked up the Oregon State offer a couple days before National Signing Day as the new staff members tried to get a head start on the next recruiting cycle.
"It was cool," Breeze said. "They've got a bunch of new coaches that I've had never met before."
Breeze's commitment to the Ducks, though, remains intact and solid.
"I've definitely gotten really close with them and been keeping in contact with the coaches," Breeze said. "During the season I went to the games and that was pretty awesome. It was cool to see them do well with coach Mark Helfrich. He picked them right back up and almost got a national championship. Some people were doubting him, but he's proven he's a great coach."
Breeze has a busy offseason itinerary. Later this month he'll be in Las Vegas for the national 7-on-7 tournament along with a couple other Oregon-based prospects, including Lamar Winston and Elijah Molden. Then, Breeze could take some unofficial visits and compete in camps.
"I've been talking to my parents about possibly doing some visits," Breeze said. "They've been telling me to go to as many camps as I can so I learn stuff and see other campuses. They want me to know for sure Oregon is the best school for me and have no doubts when I go there."
Alabama could draw a visit, especially given that Breeze is curious about SEC country. There could also be a trip down the West Coast.
"USC looks like a cool school from what I've seen on television," Breeze said. "They have a really good program and have reached out to me a bit on Twitter. Some of their coaches followed me and messaged me. And we'd probably get out to Arizona State as well. My father was a walk-on there and he would be happy to check that out."
Breeze had 42 total tackles, three interceptions, six pass deflections and a forced fumble this past season, helping Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic to a state title. On offense, he was credited with 16 carries for 175 rushing yards and four touchdowns, and caught eight passes for 172 yards.
