Hartland (Wisc.) Arrowhead offensive tackle Ben Bredeson is one of the Midwest's top class of 2016 prospects and he is preparing to visit several colleges this spring.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Bredeson has been hearing from colleges since his sophomore season ended, with several coming by the school. Now he is looking to experience what those schools have to offer.
"Iowa State came to a practice and watched me. So did Michigan State," he said. "During the spring I'll take a lot more visits to schools just see where I'll fit in and where I want to go."
Wisconsin is another school Bredeson expects to visit this spring. He has two teammates who signed with the Badgers in the 2015 class. His linebacker teammate, Sam Seonbuchner, signed with Iowa State and Bredeson plans to accompany him on a visit to Ames this spring.
"I was just talking to Coach (Derek) Day last week and he and I kind of worked out that I was going to come down sometime in the spring," Bredeson said. "Sam and I are going to go down there and he's going to give me a big tour and show me around. Sam really likes the coaching staff and speaks highly of them. He speaks highly of their facilities too."
Bredeson previously made a game day visit to Michigan State last fall, and is excited to return to East Lansing.
"I just got off the phone with Coach (Brad) Salem at Michigan State today and will head out there for a spring practice and watch them," Bredson said. "We keep in pretty good contact. The only problem is I can't get out there a whole lot right now just because of basketball and school."
One other school Bredeson would like to check out during the spring is Ohio State.
"I haven't had much contact with Ohio State, but I really want to go out there and check it out because they are really high on my list of where I might want to go," he said. "I want to go up there at least once and just see it, but I don't know if that is going to happen."
