Brazley grabs pair of SEC offers

New Orleans (La.) G.W. Carver running back Eugene Brazley is one of the fastest athletes in the state so it was only a matter of time before colleges noticed the 5-foot-10, 175-pound junior and this weekend he picked up his first two offers from a pair of SEC programs.
"I've gotten offers from Ole Miss and Tennessee," Brazley said on Sunday afternoon. "I talked to Tennessee yesterday and they offered me. I talked to Ole Miss on Friday and that's when they offered me.

"I was kind of surprised. I had never really talked to Tennessee before. I had talked to Ole Miss on the phone before and they wanted me to go down there for a junior day on (Feb.) 25."
A few other schools could also be close to adding their names to the offer list.
"Colorado is recruiting me really hard," he said. "I'm hearing from LSU and Mississippi State too. Those are really the main ones."
Brazley is trying to set up junior day visits to some of the schools showing interest.
"I'm going to Ole Miss on the 25th," he said. "That's the only one I'm sure of right now. I think there's one at Mississippi State in March and then Colorado in April."
Though the recruiting process has just started for Brazley, he admits that a few schools have his interest piqued.
"So far I'd say Ole Miss and Colorado and probably also Tennessee," he said as to favorites. "I don't know too much about Tennessee yet so I have to do some more research. I talked to Ole Miss and they said I have a good chance of coming in and playing as a freshman. They would have me out there on the field early.
"I talk to Colorado and they sound really excited about me. I talk to coach Eric Bieniemy and he seems to really like me. I like how he coaches too."
