Braun has solid showing in Eugene

There weren't many players at the recent NIKE Camp in Oregon more impressive looking than West Albany (Ore.) two way lineman John Braun. Braun gave an early commitment to Oregon State but it sounds like he could be open to hearing from other schools as well.
Braun, 6-6, 243 pounds has a great frame and had several onlookers asking, 'who's that guy?' Up to this point, we had always considered Braun an offensive line prospect but he actually chose to work out with the defensive lineman at the camp.

"He was one of the top four of five guys in the group," NIKE lead DL coach Marty Spalding said. "He has great size and moves well. He struggled at times during the one on ones, but he's definitely a high Div I level kid."
Braun added that defensive line is where he would like to play in college as well.
"That's my favorite position," Braun said. "I committed to Oregon State as an offensive lineman but I really prefer defense. That's why although I committed, I still want to keep things open.
"Oregon State likes me as an offensive tackle but I want to see if other schools want to recruit me to play defense. I committed early because I liked Oregon State and it was my first offer but I'm still open to other schools for sure. I like Oregon a lot and a few other schools too and just want to play out the recruiting process a little more."
After seeing Braun up close and personal, we think he definitely projects better as an offensive lineman. He has an ideal left tackle frame and with his feet and long arms, he could be a special player on that side of the ball.
