Brandt talks early offers

MORE: Three-star Calif. RB talks two visits
Breland Brandt has a lot of ability, but the fact that he also has a teammate who's being highly recruited has paid off for the 2016 prospect from Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward early on.

Brandt's teammate, offensive lineman Roy Hemsley, has received plenty of recruiting attention in recent months and it means Brandt is also getting noticed by college coaches.
So far California, Arizona State and San Diego State have offered the 6-foot-4, 215-pound prospect and many others are interested in the sophomore recruit.
"Prior to the offer from Cal, the coach came to our school for Roy and one of the times he came I got a chance to meet him," Brandt said. "We got to talk and I got to know him a little better and the next thing I know they offered me.
"I know a little bit about them. I haven't always watched them but I do know they have the potential to be a great team. My grandmother lives out there so I'm really familiar with the area. It's a beautiful school so that's good."
Arizona State was the second school to offer Brandt, who is expected to compete at the Rivals Camp in Southern California this weekend.
In similar fashion, the Los Angeles Windward recruit said the ASU coaches came to see Hemsley, noticed him too and decided to offer.
"The ASU offer came in pretty much the same way," Hemsley said. "He was talking to Roy. My coach sent them my film and the next thing I knew I got a call and they offered me. I definitely want to go out and check them out and see how it is. I would definitely consider them."
The 2016 prospect said USC, UCLA and Colorado are also showing early interest as his recruitment just gets underway.
