Brandt kept commitment quiet

Bexley, Ohio offensive lineman Jake Brandt has been laying low for the past couple of months. He recently revealed that he had quietly committed to a school several weeks ago.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound offensive tackle had received offers from Cincinnati, Miami-OH, Illinois, Akron and Eastern Michigan before making his choice. Where will he be spending his college years?

"I'm committed to Miami of Ohio," Brandt said. "I think I committed around week three of our season.
"One of the big things for me was I wanted to go to school in Ohio. It's close to home so that really helped. I went out there and met all the coaches. They're just all great guys. I loved the campus and it was just a good fit for me."
Brandt plans on taking an official visit to Miami in early November. While other schools haven't backed off entirely, Brandt is adamant that his decision has been made.
"I've sort of taken myself out of the recruiting process," he said. "When coaches call I'll just tell them I'm committed to Miami and that's where I'm going."
At 255 pounds, Brandt will likely need to put on a good deal more weight before he is ready to be a significant contributor at the college level. That could happen very quickly once he is put on a college weight training program.
Brandt runs the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds and said his physicality has improved a lot since his junior year.
