Brandt has excellent summer

Breland Brandt is pretty much finished with recruiting for the summer but it was a fantastic ride for the 2016 defensive end who landed more major offers and is considered one of the top prospects in the whole class.
The Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward standout now lists offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Miami, San Diego State, UCLA, USC, Utah and Washington.

"I'm pretty much wrapped up," Brandt said. "Right now I'm just focusing on our team and the season.
"It was a great summer. It was a great experience with all the schools this summer. I learned a lot at their camps and talking to the coaches. It was definitely a confidence builder going into the season.
"Knowing that I was a first-time football player and these coaches really like what they see. It just makes me want to work even harder and have a great junior season."
More schools are getting involved with Brandt, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect who could also play outside linebacker if needed. At Windward, the 2016 prospect is also a threat on offense.
"I'm hearing from Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Florida State," Brandt said. "Those are the three I've talked to most and I've gotten a few letters from Michigan but that's about it.
"They're really interested in me. They want to see how my junior year goes and then they're going to keep talking from there."
There has been some preliminary talk that UCLA looks great in Brandt's recruitment and that USC is not far behind at all but the Windward standout does not want to name any favorites yet. It's still early, plenty of programs can get involved and he's just focused on a big season.
"Right now it's still too early," Brandt said. "I've had a great time visiting a majority of them and I like them a lot. In terms of putting one ahead of another it's still really early for me."
