Brandt excited for SEC trip

Breland Brandt is focused on finals and wrapping up his junior year. Then the 2016 defensive end from Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward is planning a trip to Alabama for its camp and he could not be more excited.
Alabama and LSU have reached out recently and those two SEC powers certainly have the attention of the 6-foot-3, 208-pound defensive end.

"They're still both very interested," Brandt said. "I'm ready to get tickets for the Alabama camp. I'll be getting on that plane in about two weeks. I'll be up there for Alabama. I'm not sure about LSU. It's still something we're talking about but I'm not entirely sure at the moment."
Getting an offer from the Crimson Tide would be huge but Brandt said he's even more thrilled just to get to Tuscaloosa to experience it. Learning from those coaches and competing against some top players is really what Brandt is looking forward to on his Alabama trip.
"I'm very excited," Brandt said. "That's the best of the best right there. To get an opportunity to go there, that's a blessing for me.
"I have no idea about an offer. I'm just going out there for the camp to learn as much as I can for my season and if they offer me that's great. If they don't that's great, too, I'm just happy I have the opportunity."
Brandt has slowed down with unofficial visits to the local schools recently as he prepares for finals. So far, he's been offered by Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Miami, San Diego State, UCLA, USC, Utah and Washington.
Notre Dame is showing a good deal of interest and the two local programs - USC and UCLA - are already recruiting him hard.
"I spoke with coach (Jeff) Ulbrich (from UCLA) and I'm going to be talking to (USC) coach (Tee) Martin soon," Brandt said.
"Pretty much everybody has stopped by and said hi. Notre Dame keeps telling me they're extremely interested and they want me to come out to a camp and see what I can do. I'm trying to get out there and see if I can go to one of their camps. Hopefully after that I'll have an offer."
