Brandon Woods still committed

Durham (N.C.) Southern athlete/receiver Brandon Woods is still a soft verbal commitment to Virginia, but he will look at some schools to be sure.
"Virginia is a great school with great coaches," Woods said. "I really like the environment there with football and the academics. When coach (Steve) Spurrier calls you have to listen, because he has a history of putting receivers in great offenses. I'm going to visit both Virginia and South Carolina in January. I won't decide until Signing Day in February. I'm still looking to be sure.

"Coaches have been calling. I'm mainly hearing for South Carolina and Virginia."
Woods, a 6-foot-2, 203-pound prospect who can play several positions on offense and defense, recently returned from North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl that features the top seniors in the Carolinas. The three-star recruit enjoyed his time and said he caught a couple of passes in the all-star contest. Some defense backs at the games mentioned Woods as one of the top receivers they faced.
"It was great to be there with the top guys," Woods said. "The whole time was very cool and then we meet some of the kids that the Shriners help which was very cool. I enjoyed it and had a good time participating. It was a great thing to take part in."
What will Woods be looking for in the school that he decides to pick?
"I will look at the education and make sure that is good," Woods said. "And I want to go to a place that can give me a chance to play at the next level. A place that prepares players for that and puts them in a system that gives them a chance to do well at that level."
Just as he did as a junior, Woods has been selected an all-conference and all-state performer.
