Brandon Gray planning a summer decision

Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech three-star wide receiver Brandon Gray has seen his offer list climb to 14 schools, but has yet to see many of those programs in-person. He hopes to rectify that this summer before making his college selection.

THE LATEST

Gray has had a relatively quiet off-season compared to most class of 2018 prospects who were on the road, visiting college programs for spring practices and games. Gray, however, recently transferred back to Cass Tech after playing last season for Southfield A&T and was adjusting to his new school. He is adamant about making his college selection prior to his senior season, though, which means visits will likely start as soon his junior year of school is complete. Among the schools he plans to visit is Arkansas, which offered him last September.

IN HIS WORDS

“I talk to the (Arkansas) head coach on the phone and on Twitter. They said they like my size – they are known for having big receivers – and how I highpoint the ball. They said I could really make an impact. I watched a couple of their games and it’s a good team.”

RIVALS’ REACTION

Gray said he has a few teams in mind that are top contenders, but does not want to reveal those schools until he has seen all the schools that have offered. Among the schools he talks with the most are Iowa State, Minnesota and Syracuse. He made a visit to Syracuse last summer, and has a feel for the Orange’s program. Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck offered Gray at both Western Michigan and with the Gophers, and Gray said that is a good relationship.
