Brains and Braun for Kentucky WR

Henderson (Ky.) Henderson County wide receiver Chris Lamar has been the beneficiary of having a great quarterback in Kentucky commit Will Fidler throwing him the ball the past few years. Though he's still looking for his first offer, he's getting plenty of interest.
"I still don't have any offers yet, but I'm getting a lot of mail," Lamar said. "Vanderbilt, Indiana, Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Cincinnati and most of the Ivy League schools are sending me stuff. Air Force called and said they really liked me and told me to write my congressman because that's how you have to go about getting in there."

The 6-foot-3.5, 182-pound wide receiver attended the NIKE camp in Blacksburg where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.67 seconds, the shuttle in 4.46 seconds and posted a 29-inch vertical jump.
"I went out east this spring and visited Harvard, Yale and Brown and I really liked them all," Lamar said. "Ball State has expressed a lot of interest too and I am interested in them. Kentucky, Indiana and Vanderbilt are also schools that I'm looking at."
Lamar had over 1,200 yards and 19 touchdowns receiving as a junior en route to an all-state campaign.
"I look at how a school is known academically first," Lamar said. "I also don't want to go to a school where I am going to lose most of the games I play, so I am looking for a good program. I am going to catch some games this year, I just haven't figured out where yet."
