Houston (Texas) Stratford Rivals250 running back Rakeem Boyd has added a few new offers and took his first junior day visit on Saturday.
The most recent offer arrived on Monday when the SMU Mustangs let Boyd know how badly he was wanted on the Hilltop.

"I haven't really been up there yet but It was a big deal for the coach," Boyd said. "I talked to the whole coaching staff of SMU today and they really liked me and they told me I could play up there as a freshman. They offered me today. They said they'd offered me awhile ago, but they just now got in touch with me."
On Friday he received his second Big 12 offer from the Iowa State Cyclones.
"They just really like me and told me I could also come there and play early because the way they see me run and things like that," Boyd said. "I'm already the same size as some of their running backs."
On Saturday he attended his first junior day at the University of Texas. He was a bit disappointed not to receive an offer and he had to leave early because of the weather, but one coach left a very strong impression.
"The running backs coach, I really like him," Boyd said.
Next up for Boyd is a trip to SEC territory, and he has some high hopes.
"I've been talking to (Texas) A&M and hopefully when I go up there I'll get offered," Boyd said. "That could be a big change up if I get offered by them Friday."
He is not planning to make a commitment at this time, but he does have a couple of schools who have offered which have caught his attention.
"West Virginia, they have a fast tempo offense and they had Tavon Austin a few years ago. I feel like I could do things he did up there. Oregon State, that's another quick school with Brandin Cook and guys like that. But I'm not sure yet.
Oklahoma has also been coming on strong, and UCLA reached out recently as well.
Boyd is currently ranked No. 210 in the Rivals250 and No. 10 among the nation's running backs. He rushed for 2,519 yards and 29 touchdowns on 246 carries as a junior.
