Boyd likes new MSU hire

MOBILE, Ala. – Philadelphia, Miss., defensive tackle Josh Boyd is one of the top players in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic.
He also happens to be one of the top recruits in Mississippi State's class, and it sounds like he plans on staying that way, too.

"I am still committed to Mississippi State and can't wait to meet the coach," Boyd said.
Boyd, who was also offered by Southern Miss, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Michigan and Ole Miss, said he's pumped about the hire of Dan Mullen as the new coach at MSU.
"He has a great offensive mind and did some really good things at Florida, so I am excited," Boyd said.
Boyd did say he was solid, but then again that hasn't stopped others from still calling him and trying to get him to take visists.
"LSU and Alabama are the main ones," Boyd said. "And yes, I will take some visits because I am not sure about the new coach yet."
But first things first, Boyd said he's pumped about playing in Saturday's game.
"It is a big honor," he said. "You know it is kind of a player's game, and we won last year so I hope we can get a winning streak going. No. 4, the receiver (Kevin Norwood), has really caught my eye. He catches everything with his hands, and I had never heard of him before."
