Boyd keeps open mind

Houston (Texas) Stratford Rivals250 running back Rakeem Boyd has had no problems grabbing the attention of college coaches. Scholarship offers have come from near and far with Michigan, Missouri, Boston College, West Virginia, Duke, Colorado, and Oregon State already on the table.
Interest continues to pour in as well.

"I've been having the Florida Gators and Oregon and I think that's it right now. I think Oregon should be coming soon and Oklahoma too," Boyd said. "Next week the offensive coordinator, coach Riley, from OU is coming to see me next week at school. Then I've been talking to coach Campbell almost every week from Oregon. "
Texas A&M remains in touch. Texas has shown interest too. His most recent offer arrived from Indiana. There have been spring game invitations, and excuses to get him on campus. However, Boyd has not been able to make many trips this spring.
"I've just been dealing with track," Boyd said. "Spring ball starts April 27 so it's pretty soon."
Talk of favorites is always something talked about and asked about, but Boyd is in no hurry. He has a plan and he plans to keep an open mind.
"I'm going to always be open until next year around Signing Day," Boyd said. "So I'm going to be open during the football season and during the summer and during the spring. There's not going to be a top. I'm just going to wait it out and see what I can get."
Boyd rushed for 2,519 yards and 29 touchdowns on 248 carries as a junior and he is currently ranked No. 210 in the Rivals250.
