Boyd eliminates contender

Orange, N.J. safety/running back Cory Boyd has eliminated one of his favorites and could be closer to deciding that orginally thought.
"I cancelled my Virginia visit," said the 6-foot-1, 186-pounder. "I just didn't like the look at running back there. They have too many guys. I want to play running back more than defense so the depth chart is important. I decided not to waste everyone's time."

Boyd's next visit is set for Jan. 24 at Virginia Tech and he also has Boston College for Jan. 31. He's already been to South Carolina and Wisconsin.
"South Carolina is my team now," he said. "I felt at home down there and they've been recruiting me as a running back all along. It will be hard to beat them."
Virginia Tech is the only school with a chance it seems.
"That's why I'm waiting so long to commit," he said. "I want to see Tech. If I can push my BC visit up to Jan. 17 then I will, but if not I might decide right after my trip to Tech. They have some young running backs there as well, but not as many."
