Bowman taking trips, waits on offers

Dobie receiver Xavier Bowman will be taking official visits to the University of Houston, Utah State and Fordham over the next three weeks after back-to-back, all-district seasons.
Bowman (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) had 49 catches for over 800 yards as a senior for Dobie and has flown under the recruiting radar this year. Houston and Utah State have yet to offer, but have invited him on official visits.

"Xavier had a tremendous season for us," Dobie coach Tommy Kaiser said. "He caught the ball well, returned kicks and played a little defense for us. It's his speed that has kept some schools away, but he is not going to get any slower. He's only going to get faster, bigger and stronger over the years.
"He is a good hurdler for our track team and was third in regionals last year," he said. "He has a great frame to grow on and some school is going to get a great steal. He's a great, coachable kid with good grades."
Bowman has been offered by Fordham, but would like to stay closer to home or play for a Division I school.
