Bowman loves VTs fans

On Tuesday, just a couple of days after his trip to Blacksburg, linebacker Andrew Bowman had a chance to reflect on his experience at the Virginia Tech-Miami game. The excitement still hasn't worn off.
"That was a great game to be at," said the 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker from Richmond (Va.) Hermitage. "I can't imagine fans being any better than that. I knew it could get loud at Tech, but that was real passion. The players fed off the emotion the fans were putting into the game. It was really impressive."

Before the visit Virginia held a slight edge for Bowman. Is that still the case?
"Things have evened out a little bit," he said. "I still really like Virginia, but they're about even now with Virginia Tech, Purdue and Tennessee. All those places get a lot of national attention and have steady programs. I don't think I'd have to worry about playing on teams that go 3-8 or anything like that at those places."
While this trip to Tech was only an unofficial, he plans on going back to Blacksburg on an official visit Dec. 12th. On Dec. 28th he also plans on visiting Virginia.
"I still plan on taking both of those," he said. "They're the in-state schools and it's just common sense that I would take those trips. I haven't set the other dates yet, but I'll be taking official visits to North Carolina, Tennessee and Purdue."
Bowman has helped lead Hermitage to a perfect 8-0 record this year, and he has recorded 70 tackles on the season. When can we expect a decision?
"I really don't know man," he said. "I really don't think it's going to be in the immediate future, unless something really big happens. I'll probably take all my officials first, and I haven't even set three of those up yet. So we'll see what happens after those trips."
